Trainee Accountant Programme

Nwanda Incorporated is an accredited SAICA Training Office that provides Trainee Accountant learner ships to students that are interested in serving their SAICA articles in order to qualify as a Chartered Accountant.

We recruit students that have recently matriculated, are studying towards a BCom (Accounting) degree or have graduated with a BCom (Accounting) degree.

Minimum Requirements for eligible candidates:
  • Minimum average of 70% for Mathematics in their Grade 12 year.
  • Consistently good academic record.
  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
  • Candidates must be a South African Citizen and reside in Gauteng.

2Audit Supervisor

Reporting to: Audit Manager

Key Purpose: The purpose of this position is to support the Audit Manager on the Audit by performing high level audits and providing supervision and mentorship to the Audit Trainees in the Audit Team

Qualifications & Experience required:

  • Matric (Subjects: mathematics core and accounting)
  • AGA(SA) or CA(SA)
  • Consistently good academic record
  • Must have completed SAICA Articles at a medium sized Audit Firm
  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS standards
Fully computer literate on:
  • CaseWare (advanced)
  • Excel

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following broad job functions (from most important to least):

  • Planning and managing audits and independent reviews;
  • Performing high-level audit work, independent reviews, compilations, consolidations and reporting packs;
  • Reviewing work performed by trainees and audit files prior to presentation to Manager;
  • Monitoring audit budgets and meeting deadlines;
  • Preparing tax computations and completing tax returns timeously;
  • Managing, training and evaluating trainees in terms of SAICA requirements;
  • Compliance with all accounting, auditing, and other technical issues; and
  • • Supporting Audit Managers and Partners on all accounting, auditing, and tax matters.

3Senior Accountant / Deceased Estates

Reporting to: Partners

The purpose of this position is to manage the online accounting division

Qualifications & Experience required:

  • BCom Accounting Degree
  • Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles
  • 3 to 5 years accounting / bookkeeping and deceased estates experience
Fully computer literate on:
  • Quickbooks Online Accounting
  • Sageone Online Accounting (Not essential)
  • Xero Online Accounting (Not essential)
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word
  • Knowledge of Sars Efiling, Easyfile software and Payroll software would be an advantage

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following broad job functions:

  • Performing accounting / bookkeeping related tasks for online accounting clients;
  • Monitoring budgets and meeting deadlines;
  • Preparing direct and indirect tax computations and tax returns timeously, i.e. Vat 201’s, Emp 201’s, EMP 501’s, Income Tax Returns, ITSD14’s, etc.;
  • Assisting with the collection of fees;
  • Ensuring client compliance with all accounting and other technical issues;
  • Supporting audit partners on all accounting and tax matters;
  • Providing assistance and support to clients on financial matters;
  • Preparation of deceased estate documents for SARS. Lodging of estate accounts with the Masters Office and the Magistrate.

4Tax Administrator

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of individual tax returns;
  • Understanding of how corporate taxes and Trust taxes work;
  • Understanding of provisional taxes;
  • Assisting with all SARS statutory registration and requirements;
  • SARS administration and correspondence;
  • Good knowledge of SARS deadlines and SARS procedures;
  • Checking of assessments and identifying discrepancies for objection;
  • PAYE, VAT, UIF and Workman’s Comp administration; and Reconciliation of bank statements.
